The last couple weeks has become a terrible roller coaster in my real life. And the past couple days alone have involved lots of big changes that made me have to step back from a lot of projects and tend to myself for a moment. I’m not really wanting to bore you guys with the details; I’m just going to state that my significant other of five years and I have decided to separate recently. My weekend has been kinda hectic, lots of flaring emotions and conversations both civil and uncivil. I wake up this morning, for the first time in my life, completely alone and on my own. It’s not necessarily a bad thing; it’s just the first chapter to the next scary phase in my life.
I’ve had a lot of things set in motion here at The Chaos Grenade. Right now, though, I’m needing to take a breather and tend to real life a bit more and get my bearings together before I push forward with them. But here’s an update for a few of those things:
I Am Your Champion Update
I plan on playing forward with I Am Your Champion. I think what Duane has started is an amazing concept and I hope the game continues, and I hope many others start playing (and that the rest of us keep playing.)
As for the cause I was raising money for, I first want to say a big thank you to everyone who pitched in a donation so far, and for all the folks who’ve re-tweeted stuff for me as well as all the other Champions who threw down or pitched in or cross-promoted our causes.
For the peeps who donated in exchange for an adventure, I will be getting to work on those ASAP…..which right now looks like Wednesday. I’m not sure how long it’ll take me for each individual adventure; but know that I’m putting my own gaming and writing projects (outside of school, of course) on hold until I get those cranked out and you guys satisfied.
You may notice the forum link. I’ve got a few things cooking on the back burner that once I get caught up with the IAYC pledges, they’ll be brought forward to a full simmer. When those projects go live, I want to be prepared to support any interested parties who look into them. Should be fun. I’ll go ahead and announce what’s on the cusp of seeing the light of day: WYRED. Wyred is a little cyberpunk-style RPG based off the WYRM System (same rules that power Warrior, Rogue & Mage and RAG.) Before I got heavy into IAYC, I was just about finished with the rough draft of the core game. It’s currently sitting in my Open Office document, no fancy pictures or layout, at almost 30 pages. Once I revise a little bit more, I’m wanting to release a bare Alpha document for feedback. I’m hoping that will see the light of day in early March.
Until then, things may be a little bit silent here on The Chaos Grenade.
